Intercontinental Elopement in Ocean Park, Oak Bluffs
It started when Lisa was working abroad in Chicago. One magical day they crossed paths at a Halloween Party, and this is where their story began. An instant connection quickly transformed into a long-distance international relationship. After five years of back and forth, they finally decided to start their lives together. Jeff proposed to Lisa on December 28, 2016th on Millenium Bridge in Chicago. As a couple they both love traveling, eating new foods, and simply spending good time with family and friends.
Lisa wanted to get married on Martha's Vineyard at the historic Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs. She loves everything about this town and especially the gingerbread cottages, which were the backdrop for a few of their wedding photographs, the bluffs themselves, and of course, the ocean. We'll never forget the moment when we were taking photos in front of the famous pink house in the campground. A large group from a guided tour passed by and everyone started cheering, congratulating and taking photographs of the unknown married couple in front of the picturesque gingerbread. This pleasant but unexpected attention made Lisa and Jeff laugh from the bottom of their hearts. A moment to remember!
The intimate first look photos were taken at the East Chop Lighthouse. Lisa was extremely excited for the moment where she could finally see her groom's reaction to her wedding day radiance.
The ceremony was filled with family love and German traditions. In one old wedding tradition, Lisa’s sisters prepared a surprise for Lisa & Jeff after the ceremony. A bed sheet is strung up, and a large heart shape was painted on the front of it. The bride and groom each get a pair of scissors and have to cut around each side of the heart and meet in the middle. The groom then has to carry his bride through the heart. Jeff and his family loved it! Could this tradition be any cuter?
After the ceremony, we had the chance to take a few family portraits and drove to the East Chop Beach to capture the last sunset moments of their special day.
What a perfect wedding day! I am so thankful I could be part of it. A huge thank you to Lisa and Jeff, and I wish you all the best in your new life together.
